School Time

Well Hello everyone!!! This has been a very busy week for me. I managed to complete a creation and this one is for the following challenges:
I decided to make my own template again and this time I made a template for a Backpack. I have to come up with a tutorial soon and I will be posting it here and on my CDAC group. I chose a denim paper that I just purchased and a deep red cardstock. My image is from Michelle Perkett called Mary Margaret. Isn't she cute! I used a white correction pen to create my stitches on the denim paper and a black pen for the stitches on my closure tabs. I colored mary Margaret using Adobe Photoshop and added some school embellishments like my ABC's, pencil, apple and a sentiment. I layered or pieced her apple and bow to give it that raised effect. My backpack opens and has a velcro dot to keep it closed. I haven't finished the inside but I will wait until I need a card for someone special. I think I will send it to my youngest granddaughter who is 4 1/2 years old and is in preschool.

I love this backpack, and Mary Margaret goes perfectly on here! Your paper piecing, or layering as you and I call it, looks great! I can't wait to see the tutorial on CDAC! You know you could also post tutorials either here or on your challenge blog too! It's just a thought.
